The Merrill E-5000 Yard Hydrant is designed with pivot connector in place of commonly used set screws. A pivot connector lengthens the adjustability life of the hydrant because it will not rust into place like a set screw. The E-5000 comes in two packing gland options; standard and metal. The metal packing gland offers an extremely quick removal time, dramatically shortening the time required to check or replace the hydrant's plunger. Merrill's self-lubricating one-piece plunger offers an extended life expectancy with minimal sticking and bonding. The use of a double bypass valve body enables the E-5000 to provide a high water flow rate for an economical price. Created with cold weather in mind, the incorporated drain hole allows water to drain out creating confidence in year-round use in all climates.
